Play Mas' with Shakespeare

King Jab Jab is angry. Hell just isn’t what it used to be. The old fire and brimstone just doesn’t cut it anymore in the information age. But never fear. The Revenge of King Jab Jab is here. In this Carnival theatre social satire, King Jab Jab and his cohorts from the Land of Mamaguy “Play Mas With Shakespeare” as they devise the most dastardly of modern plans to create a new and improved “Hell-On-Earth.” Join our crew of motley Carnival characters as they replace democracy with dictatorship through picong, Shakespeare and plenty vintage kaiso.

The Transformer Performers are a group of inmates studying theatre, film and mediation with Ellen O'Malley Camps and Wayne Lee Sing along with other volunteer tutors and supporters. In 2018 BCO received a grant from the European Union Delegation to Trinidad and Tobago to create a series of five videos about our project . The EU also supported the facilitation of sessions and the staging of eight performances by the Transformer Performers throughout that year. Coming Back for More Revenge!!!

We'll be back on the Saturday 6th and 7th of March, 7pm! King Jab Jab and his cohorts from the Land of Mamaguy “play mas” with the Shakespearean tradition as they replace democracy with dictatorship by devising the most dastardly and ridiculous plans to create a new and improved “Hell-On-Earth.” A Carnival Theatre social satire, “The Revenge of King Jab Jab” uses traditional carnival characters, lots of vintage calypso,es and Shakespearean quotes to deliver its hilarious message of the dangers of “fake news” and the rise of “populism” in politics the world over.
